Extremely peculiour to me, I started fishing around and this is what I came across.

We saw how the Hebrew weekdays have no names (except Shabbat).  The secular weekday names, however, have very different and unbiblical origins.  Every day name is associated with a planet and a pagan god.

The original Roman year had 10 named months Martius “March”, Aprilis “April”, Maius “May”, Junius “June”, Quintilis “July”, Sextilis “August”, September
