It is always surprising to me that Christians and Fundamentalist Christians can argue, bible punch, march, protest, murder and manipulate people with their views and beliefs. They can bring their 10 commandments into government legislation and force their way into your lives and homes. They launch T.V and satellite stations across the world and condemn anybody that has got anything to say to contradict anything that they proclaim.
When searching through the internet and speaking to fellow atheists they always say that when you engage in debate or discussions with theists that you have to be cautious, you have to be tactful and be careful of this, and don’t raise your opinion on that. Here is a “tip” from one website:
Be prepared to be ill received by some religious people. Many theists find your lack of beliefs both offensive and horrifying. Many atheists find themselves socially scorned or even threatened with violence. It is important to talk about your ideas, but be sure to do this in an appropriate context.
Believers may try, sometimes relentlessly, to convert you. They may completely fail to understand your new position. Be understanding.
What a crock of bullshit! Why must atheists be understanding, and do things in an appropriate manner? Why can’t religious people be understanding, or approach me in an appropriate manner? Why should I withdraw my views when arguments turn ugly, or succumb to their twisted views of reality? Everywhere you go and everything you read to help argue atheism, it is always given with warnings and tips. I say bullshit to that, and I am one of those atheists who insists on fighting for what you believe in. Why is there not Atheist Satellite channels? Or more gatherings and protest marches against christians? Why do we hide behind writing books and creating websites where you can have an alias and hide behind firewalls? The only atheists who really makes an impact in the world are people like, Christopher Hitchens, Richard Dawkins, David Icke, Bill Maher and then are the more subtle “Don’t really know him” people who struggles with public humiliation and who needs to run away of ridicule. I just don’t understand why atheists can take the same amount of energy and dedication to force “YOUR” opinion on christians, and shove “YOUR” beliefs into their mouths.
The past 10 months I have been pondering and thinking and deciding what would be an awesome way to argue a christian. We all know that every single christian is a hypocrite, and that every single christian always uses his bible to justify arguments. Anything can be justified, everything can be argued with the bible, it doesn’t matter what your fucked up mind believes.
So to attack a christian, you have to attack the bible first.
This is what I’ve done:
1. Know The Bible
- Get all your facts onto paper and then study them so that you are prepared!
- Contradictions are abundent in the bible, and it’s also a good base to start any argument
- Compare Old Testament prophecy with New Testament
- What did Jesus really say
2. Steps Of Argument
- Start with someone you know well, a friend that you know wouldn’t crack your skull
- Move to church members (home groups or prayer groups)
- Take on the preacher
- Write a fucking book if you feel like it
3. Knowing When To Stop
- Never agree to disagree….. NEVER!!!
- When the typical violence presents itself, use blatant sarcasm.
Some questions that I ask christians:
Question - If Elohim (gods) is the plural for El (god), the who are these multiple gods that created Adam in “their” image?
Answer - It is the Trinity. God, Jesus and Holy Ghost.
Come back – You can make various jokes and statements on this,
- Superman’s name is Kal-El and his father is Jur-El, and they come from the House of El. Is superman our creator then?
- Jesus only took the right hand of god when he descended to heaven after his death, so how could he be part of the creation?
Question - Do you believe you are going to a better place like heaven when you die?
Answer - Yes
Come Back – So why don’t you kill yourself?
Question - How do you know that the bible is the actual word of god?
Answer - Because the bible says so…..
Come Back – This is what you call Circular Reasoning, the typical “The bible tells me so” syndrome. Unfortunately any question after this you will get the exact same answer and therefore rendering the whole intelegent debate to stupidity and . If anybody knows a good comeback for this, please leave a comment.
